Social Prescriber - Gypsy Roma Traveller Service

This role combines social prescribing, health promotion, and

smoking cessation support specifically for Gypsy, Roma and Traveller

communities across Surrey.

The post holder will

Build trusting relationships with GRT individuals and

families

Provide personalised support to improve wellbeing using

Make every Contact Count (MECC)

Deliver smoking cessation advice, behavioural support

and followup

Support access to primary care, screening, vaccinations

and wider services by signposting and referring into appropriate services

Work collaboratively with ABCs Health Inclusion Teams,

VCSE partners and local authorities

This role is ideal for someone passionate about reducing

health inequalities, working in community settings, and supporting people in a

culturally sensitive, trauma informed way.

Genuine Occupational Requirement

Due to the specific safeguarding needs and privacy considerations of the service users in this role, including required access to homes where individuals are of a particular sex and where sensitive, gender specific engagement is essential, it is a proportionate means of achieving a legitimate aim for this post to be carried out by a female employee.

Social Prescribing and Personalised Support
