The NIHR Applied Research Collaboration (ARC) North East and North Cumbria (NENC) are looking for a Knowledge Mobilisation Fellow to join the ARC team...
To help deliver the Knowledge Mobilisation agenda in close collaboration with the NENC Integrated Care Board (ICB), we are looking to appoint a Knowledge Mobilisation Fellow to join the ARC's core team, and work collaboratively with Embedded Knowledge Mobilisation Fellows working across the North East and North Cumbria health and care system.

The roles offer an exciting opportunity to work as part of an expert knowledge mobilisation team in the ARC NENC, and affect real change across many partner organisations within our integrated health and care system.
Post holders will have the opportunity to develop their knowledge mobilisation skills and connections by working with a range of academics, practitioners and policy makers as well as communities across the ARC.
Fellows will receive peer support via a national network of knowledge mobilisation fellows as well as from a dedicated community within the ARC's Impact and Implementation Special Interest Group.
They will build their national networks and understanding of the wider NIHR infrastructures to position themselves for a future knowledge mobilisation leadership role within the health and social care system, and receive funded, dedicated time out from their current roles to develop knowledge mobilisation capacity and connections.
Education and Qualification
Essential
- Educated to Master's degree level or equivalent level of experience
Desirable
- Educated to PhD level or equivalent level of experience
Knowledge and Experience
Essential
- Significant postgraduate experience of knowledge mobilisation approaches
- Knowledge of UK health research environment and experience with working with multiple stakeholders to facilitate evidence into policy and practice
- Awareness of barriers and facilitators to knowledge mobilisation
- Understanding of information governance including data protection and confidentiality requirements
Desirable
- Experience in or knowledge of project management approaches
- Knowledge of relevant public health networks, knowledge mobilisation networks and/or health protection research community
- An appreciation of knowledge mobilisation theories and how they can be operationalised. Understanding of implementation science methodology
Skills and Competencies
Essential
- Excellent oral and written communication skills with proven presentation and scientific report writing skills
- Able to build and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Able to work under own initiative, respond to sudden unexpected demands whilst maintaining a professional, calm and efficient manner
- Eye for accuracy and detail
- Ability to work to tight timescales
Desirable
- Experience in designing, organising, facilitating and evaluating knowledge sharing events such as stakeholder meetings, webinars, community forums and other engagement activities
