Th post holder will support the FM ODN to provide the clinical expertise and leadership to drive commissioning decision-making, measure and benchmark quality and outcomes, and share best practice and innovation. In this way, the networks:
- Improve quality outcomes.
- Advance the delivery of services
- Reduce unacceptable variations in care
- Act as champions for patients and their interests and involve the public and patients in policy-development and decision-making.

Knowledge and Experience
Essential
- Significant knowledge of Fetal Medicine services and significant relevant clinical experience
- Sound knowledge of key national issues/agendas relevant to FMU.
- Evidence of up to date skills and is clinically competent in current role
- Proven experience of the delivery and evaluation of multidisciplinary education and training
- Sound knowledge of key national issues/agendas relevant to FMU
- Experience of managing/mentoring staff
- Ability to chair and run meetings
- Thorough and up to date knowledge of midwifery theory and best practice particularly within speciality area.
- Experience of guideline /policy writing
Desirable
- Experience of leading and implementing service developments
- Experience of regional working
- Knowledge of the Fetal Anomaly Screening Programme ( FASP)
