Job description

This exciting appointment is for a newly developed Consultant Psychiatrist (10 PAs) post working within the Herefordshire and Worcestershire CAMHS Lea...

  • Who is keen help young people to develop a better understanding of their own emotions and behaviours, where appropriate and is skilled at adapting their approach to meet individual needs.
  • Who prioritises delivering a quality clinical service and strategic development within the service, in collaboration with key team members and wider Trust priorities.

To work as part of a multidisciplinary team

and liaise with statutory and voluntary agencies.

  • To manage

a case load consisting of clients for whom you will either be the lead

healthcare professional (HCP) and have responsibility for managing their needs

(low risk patients who do not require multidisciplinary input and only require

medical outpatient management alone), or allocated medic where you will be

responsible for the medical management of patients managed under CPA (or

similar framework) and shared with other MDT professionals.

  • To

conduct outpatient clinics consisting of routine and urgent new patient

assessments and review/follow up appointments.

  • To carry

out home visits and telephone/remote consultations with service users as

appropriate.

  • To

participate in appropriate multi disciplinary team meetings such as MDT

meetings & CPA reviews.

  • To

maintain electronic health records in accordance with Trust policies.

  • To

actively participate in clinical governance activities.

  • To work

within the duties and responsibilities of the Mental Health Act.

Experience

Essential

  • Provision of high quality mental health services, as trainee or Consultant.
  • Previous experience of working in a clinical leadership role with positive relationships with team members.
  • Substantial training and/or experience in learning disabilities

Desirable: - Previous experience of NHS mental health services.; -; - Previous experience of clinical leadership in a learning disability setting.

Qualifications

Essential

  • MBBS or equivalent medical qualification.
  • CCT in Learning Disabilities (or within 6 months of becoming eligible for CCT) or already included on the appropriate specialist register
  • Current full registration with the GMC (or eligible for full registration with the GMC at the time of appointment).
  • GMC Licence to practice.
  • MRCPsych (or equivalent)
  • Approval (or eligible for approval) under Section 12 (2) of the Mental Health Act.
  • I understand that I will be asked to provide original certificates to verify my qualifications at point of offer.
