Staff Nurse - Acute Medical Unit (open to Newly Qualified Nurses)

Our units are rapidly developing unit, caring for patients with a range of acute medical conditions and fast paced patient turnover.

The department takes admissions from our Emergency department and Medical SDEC.

You will work as part of a team of nurses, health care assistants and care assistants and be responsible for the assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating of nursing care.

Qualifications

Essential: - Registered General Nurse; - Current (or pending) NMC Registration

Experience

Essential: - Hospital experience in UK setting; - Experience of managing change within the working environment

Desirable: - Previous experience managing patients with chronic medical conditions; - Experience working in an acute medical unit/ Acute assessment unit

Skills and Knowledge

Essential: - Effective communication skills (written and verbal); - Able to prioritise workload (self and others) and meet deadlines; - Manual Handling Training

Desirable: - Venepuncture and cannulation certification

Special Requirement

Essential: - To work in other areas of the department when required; - Able to work flexible shifts, weekends and bank holidays as required

Desirable: - Trained on EPIC
