You care deeply about young people`s mental health, and you`re ready to bring your experience, empathy and leadership into a role where you can really make a difference. You`re someone who people turn to for support, direction and reassurance and you know how to hold that space with care and confidence.
You`ll bring
- A core clinical qualification (like Education Mental Health Practitioner or a related field) and current professional registration if required
- Experience supervising others or supporting colleagues in a leadership or mentorship role
- Strong knowledge of CBT-based approaches, especially in early intervention or school settings
- Clear, confident communication and the ability to work with a wide range of people young people, families, schools, and professionals
- A solid grasp of safeguarding and risk management, and a calm, measured way of responding when things feel uncertain
- A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
You might also bring a Postgraduate Certificate in Supervision, training in low-intensity CBT, or experience working in a skill-mixed team but we`re more interested in the way you think, lead and show up for others than in ticking every box.

As a Supervising Practitioner, you`ll play a pivotal role in improving the emotional wellbeing of children and young people with mild to moderate mental health needs. Working across education settings, you`ll deliver evidence-based therapeutic interventions, support the implementation of Whole School Approaches, and build the confidence of school staff through consultation, training and strategic collaboration.
At the same time, you`ll provide clinical supervision and guidance to Educational Mental Health Practitioners (EMHPs) and trainees, helping to nurture their development while ensuring safe, effective practice. You`ll be central to our efforts to raise standards, strengthen clinical governance, and create an environment where reflective practice thrives.
With your expertise in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and your passion for system-wide impact, you`ll work closely with a skilled, values-led team committed to early intervention and collaborative care.

Qualifications
Essential
- Qualified Education Mental Health Practitioner (EMHP) with post qualification
- experience
- Post Graduate Certificate in Supervision (EMHP Supervisor Course) or post qualification
- experience of working therapeutically with children and young people and willingness to
- undertake a Post Graduate Certificate in Supervision
Desirable
- Evidence of continued professional development
- Management or supervision training
- Therapeutic postgraduate qualification or equivalent experience, in low intensity CBT
- Post Graduate qualification in a relevant discipline
- Mentorship qualification
Experience
Essential
- Two years' post qualification experience of working therapeutically with children and
- young people
- Experience of line management and/or delivery of clinical supervision
- Experience of organising team duties
- Experience of effective engagement with children, young people and families
Desirable
- Experience of leadership within Children and Young People clinical service areas
- Experience of providing mentorship
- Experience of inducting staff members
- Experience of working in a skill mix team
Additional Criteria
Essential
- Knowledge of risk assessment and management in the delivery of clinical services
- including safeguarding
- Knowledge of CBT informed supervision, ideally of practice related to education settings
- Knowledge of community and educational environments
- Knowledge of evidence based interventions for children and young people
- Knowledge of supervision frameworks and professional practice standards
- Knowledge of multi-agency and multidisciplinary working
- Knowledge of evidence and statistical data collection and achieving targets
- Knowledge of analysing, evaluating and rationalising data to support service delivery and
- intervention development
- Leadership and the ability to delegate and supervise staff
- Recognition and escalation of risk, contributing to control measures

- Ability to work under pressure and manage changing priorities
