We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Band 5 Staff Nurse to join our friendly Surgical Assessment Unit (SAU). This is an exciting opportunity t...

To deliver a high standard of nursing care to patients receiving medical treatment. The post holders will be responsible for patient care needs, and implementation and evaluation of the procedure / interventions. The post holders are required to work as part of a team committed to delivering and improving a high standard and efficient nursing care within South Warwickshire University Foundation Trust.

Take clinical responsibility for patients within your allocated area of work

Continuously assess, plan, implement and evaluate treatment, using appropriate programmes/methods of care

To ensure a high delivery of quality care in accordance with Trust policies, procedures and guidelines. Participating in activities to improve the quality, productivity and effectiveness of care in response to local and national policies and initiatives

To practice in accordance with the NMC Code of Professional conduct and scope of professional practice and maintain own NMC registration

Showing empathy, understanding, and professionalism, when communicating with patients, their carers and families. Identifying individual needs and therefore utilising a range of agreed communication mediums

Communicate effectively and professionally with colleagues and all levels of staff

Maintain confidentiality at all times, as required by legislation and Trust policy

Ensure records and documentation are maintained, kept confidential, and meets professional NMC guidelines, appropriate Trust standards, and in line with the Data Protection Act

To act in a professional manner, and as a role model, at all times, leading by example to junior members of the team

Demonstrates a positive and enthusiastic approach to their work in order to maintain high morale and motivation within the department. Promoting a professional and positive working environment

Maintain and develop own professional knowledge

To provide short-term cover for colleagues during periods of leave

To ensure that all Trust standards are maintained and monitored to improve the quality of care to all whom come into contact with services provided by South Warwickshire NHS Foundation Trust

Qualifications

Essential: - First Level RGN; - Degree/Diploma in Nursing/Health studies; - NMC Registration

Desirable: - Evidence of continuous professional development; - Non-medical prescriber; - IT Skills

Experience

Desirable: - Acute nursing; - Care of older people
