Job description

The Department of ENT at the Princess Royal University Hospital, a division of King's College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, is looking for an enthusi...

You will take part in outpatient clinics as directed - at both PRUH and Beckenham Beacon sites. The emergency on call rota will be part of your remit. Assistance in operating theatres (both inpatient and outpatient) will be programmed into your timetable. ENT emergencies may need operative management and you will be expected to arrange urgent theatre slots and ensure that patients are adequately prepared.

The Job requires the post holder to be able to provide care in a relatively independent way, looking after outpatients, day case, inpatient and emergency cases. The appointee must be able to work with others in a team to provide comprehensive district general hospital type workload, supporting junior doctors.

The Candidate will likely to work under guidance from all the ENT Consultants at some point during the working week. The precise timetable is subject to change to accommodate the department and the service.

In addition to this, you will be expected to prepare for, supervise, contribute to and attend the department's academic, audit, morbidity and mortality and other meetings.

There will be a 1:5 emergency on-call commitment in this post with prospective cover.

You will be responsible to the consultants in the department of ENT and primarily the clinical lead and the service manager.

The Trust provides a full range of local and specialist services across its five sites. In June 2026, we launched our new strategy for 2026-31. Our vision is to transform healthcare, and we have agreed six strategic ambitions to help us improve care for patients, and the working lives of our staff.

Our six strategic ambitions are deliveringhigh-quality patient care; creating a great place to work; leading pioneering research, innovation and education; building strong and successful partnerships; providing timely and efficient care; and ensuring long-term financial sustainability.

We have also agreed four new organisational values - Caring, Collaborative, Inclusive, Innovative - and these underpin everything we do, and how our teams interact with the patients under our care.

We are at a pivotal point in our history and we require individuals who are ready to join a highly professional team and make a real, lasting difference to our patients and our people.

King's is committed to delivering Sustainable Healthcare for All via our Green Plan.
