This is a part-time post (6 Programmed Activities) with participation on the middle grade out of hours rota with a frequency of less than 1 in 8. This is a non-residential, second on call rota for general adult psychiatry and will be remunerated at 3% availability supplement. There is no daytime on call commitment.
The main responsibilities of this post will be to support the consultants in providing high quality services to patients with eating disorders. The postholder will assist the consultants in all aspects of the service, including the provision of emergency care.

Qualifications
Essential
- Full Registration with GMC
- Approval (or eligibility for approval) under Section 12(2) of the Mental Health Act
- Part 1 MRC Psych or equivalent
- Knowledge of evidence base for eating disorders
Desirable
- Able to make decisions independently, but know when to seek advice
- Able to make a comprehensive assessment of a person presenting with suspected mental illness, including appropriate risk assessment
- Able to design and implement appropriate management plans, including appropriate risk management plans
- Able to think in psychotherapeutic terms and reflect on own emotional response to patients
