Band 7 Highly Specialist Physiotherapist in Stroke and Neurology - (Band 6-7 Development) Annex 21 Newham University Hospital 1 WTE / 37.5hrs per week...
o Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients' physical abilities, neurological conditions, and rehabilitation needs.
o Develop tailored treatment plans, utilizing evidence-based techniques and therapeutic interventions.
o Deliver one-on-one and group therapy sessions to enhance patients' mobility, coordination, strength, and overall function.
o Collaborate closely with other healthcare professionals, including Speech and Language Therapists, Occupational Therapists, and Nurses, to provide holistic care.
o Monitor and evaluate patients' progress, adjusting treatment plans as necessary to ensure optimal outcomes.
o Provide education and support to patients and their families, empowering them to actively participate in the rehabilitation process.
o Contribute to the development of departmental policies, protocols, and research initiatives.

Qualifications
Essential: - Diploma/Degree in Physiotherapy; - HCPC Registration
Desirable: - Leadership training; - Post graduate formal qualification relevant to clinical speciality
Experience
Essential
- Extensive post graduate experience on stroke, neurology and respiratory rotations
- Understanding of clinical governance and its implications
- Experience of working as part of a multi-disciplinary team
- Experience of working within the NHS
- Experience supervising and appraising staff and students.
- Experience of audit/research
- Experience of on-call duties
Knowledge
Essential
- Good knowledge of current best practice in physiotherapy in neurology
- In depth knowledge of national policies and procedures relevant to client group
- Understand legal responsibilities of the profession and code of ethics
Desirable: - Fieldwork educators training; - Involvement in relevant professional special interest group
Skills

- Ability to complete a neuro physical assessment
- Ability to make treatment plans for neuro patients
- Ability to participate in complex discharge planning
- Ability to complete accurate and legible notes
- Ability to prioritise, plan and pace own caseload and support other staff to do this

- Ability to lead and motivate the team
