Specialist Interventional Radiology Radiographer

To support the delivery of a wide range of diagnostic and interventionalprocedures carried out in the IR theatre suite, the Cardiac Catheter Labs and the gastrointestinal/general fluoroscopy suiteTo work with the IR Team Leader and Advanced Practitioner Radiographers to ensure the efficient and cost effective delivery of the IR service.To work as part of a team providing a 7 day and out of hours IR service including 'on-call'.To act as shift co-ordinator in the absence of the IR Team Leader or Advance Practitioner, taking responsibility for the operation of the IR department, including prioritising the workload, managing workflow and staff resources to ensure the highest standards of patient care are achieved.To make operational management decisions out of hours in the absence of the Team Leader and Advanced Practitioner in IR.To work with the Team Leader and Advanced Practitioner Radiographers to continually improve the IR service.Justify radiology referrals (within scope of practice) using referral criteria which falls within the Royal College of Radiologists Guidelines and Clinical Imaging protocols.To comply with the Ionising Radiation Regulation (IRR 17), Ionising Radiation (Medical Exposure) regulations (IR(ME)R 2017) and the Trust Radiation Safety Policy.Liaise closely with Consultant Radiologists and colleagues within clinical multidisciplinary teams to ensure that patients receive optimum care
