Essential: - Relevant theoretical / practical / scientific knowledge to underpin the technical aspect of a laboratory service
Qualifications
Essential
- Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) registered as a Biomedical Scientist
- Scientist. IBMS Certificate of Competence Biomedical Science Degree (BSc) or equivalent acceptable by Health Professions Council
- Computer literacy skills
Desirable: - European Computer Driving Licence (ECDL)
Further Training
Essential: - Participates in Continued Professional Development (CPD)
Experience
Essential
- Significant specialist training in a Clinical Microbiology laboratory during which time sufficient knowledge has been acquired to demonstrate competence in the portfolio of specialist training
Desirable: - Experience in Serology and Molecular techniques
Contractual Requirements
Essential: - 37.5 hours per week; - 5 days out of 7; - Participation in the out-of-hours on call service
