This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced and motivated Registered Nurse or Senior Operating Department Practitioner (SODP) to join our evolv...
The post holder will provide expert perioperative care, assisting with anaesthesia, airway management and patient monitoring, while also delivering high-quality post-anaesthetic recovery care to a diverse patient population across multiple surgical specialties.
This position offers a unique opportunity to influence the future of perioperative services, helping to establish a skilled and resilient workforce while ensuring patients receive outstanding care from admission to recovery. Candidates should be passionate about education, service improvement, and developing others, with a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of patient safety and clinical practice.
For the initial 12 to 18 months, this role will primarily involve working Monday to Friday, with a reduced requirement to participate in weekend, night, and on-call duties. This is an ideal opportunity for an experienced practitioner who is enthusiastic about leadership, education and developing a modern, integrated Anaesthetic and Recovery workforce.
- Provide expert clinical care within both Anaesthetic and Recovery environments.
- Support and supervise staff undertaking dual-role training and competency programmes.
- Act as a preceptor, mentor and role model for newly appointed practitioners.
- Promote patient safety, quality improvement and best practice across the perioperative pathway.
- Assist with induction, education and ongoing professional development of staff.
- Coordinate patient care and support operational flow within the department.
- Lead by example in fostering effective communication, teamwork and collaborative working across Anaesthetics and Recovery.
- Contribute to workforce development and the successful implementation of the integrated service model.
