An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Full-time Band 6 Senior Respiratory Physiologist to join our friendly and dedicated team at University Hospit...

  • To perform a range of routine, complex diagnostic testing including appropriate interpretation when required.
  • Deputise in the absence of the Lead Respiratory Physiologists
  • Provide support and oversee work performed by more junior colleagues.
  • Conduct quality assurance of work performed by more junior staff members.
  • To triage appropriateness of Respiratory and Sleep referrals
  • To conduct and report Sleep diagnostics with involvement in weekly Sleep MDT
  • To actively contribute to interdepartmental teaching/training including mentoring/assessing students and junior staff
  • Be responsible for maintaining departmental stock levels and appropriate ordering

If a role or service relocates as part of a planned move, excess mileage will not be reimbursed. Travel from home to the new work base will be classed as a normal commute. Any other changes will be managed under Trust or national terms and conditions.

Please note, this role requires cross site working.

Experience

Essential

  • Ability to work autonomously / independently
  • Delivers and assesses training and education to junior staff

Desirable

  • Experience of performing/interpreting Complex Respiratory diagnostics
  • Experience of reporting/interpreting Complex Sleep diagnostics

Qualifications

Essential

  • BSc Clinical Physiology (Respiratory) or equivalent
  • Relevant Professional Registration

Desirable

  • Post-graduate qualifications
