To undertake a supporting role, in planning, co-ordinating, delivering and evaluating the Physiotherapy Service provided to clients within the service on a day-to-day basis.
To take an active role in the advanced assessment and treatment of patients within the Stroke Unit and ICSS who may have a complex presentation and determine if/what physiotherapy treatment is indicated and deliver an individualised treatment programme. To work as an autonomous practitioner ensuring that records are maintained and up to date in line with policy and governing body HCPC.
To independently supervise, teach and appraise junior Physiotherapists, Associate Practitioners, Physiotherapy students and other members of the multi-disciplinary team, as determined by the team leader and professional lead.
The successful candidate would be supported in training and development opportunities including stroke specific courses such as those offered by "Strokeed" and have the opportunity to attend stroke conferences nationally/ locally. Regular supervision from seniors andopportunities to participate in MDT stroke specific training and opportunities to participate in audits (with protected time to support these activities).
They would have opportunities to develop the leadership/ educational skills by supporting BSc and MSc Physio students and Careers for younger person apprentices.
Excellent MDT collaborative working to support patients both inpatient and community.

Qualifications
Essential
- Degree / Diploma in Physiotherapy
- Registration with HCPC
- Evidence of CPD including postgraduate courses, reflective practice in-service training and experiential learning relevant to specialty
- Evidence of clinical management skills such as appraisal, interview, leading on clinical performance
- Clinical educators training
- Documented evidence of C.P.D.
Desirable
- Post Graduate accredited courses relevant to Clinical Practice
- Ability to comprehend and work within the Trust's policies of data protection, equal opportunities and Health and Safety and ensure they are upheld within the service.
- Clear vision of role/commitment to specialty service.
