Additional Duties: From time-to-time Speciality Doctors are required to attend patientsinvolved in accidents outside the hospital to give supportive care at the scene and ensure the safe transfer of patients into hospital and are also expected to help in the efficient running of any major incidents either within the hospital or at the scene.

Attainments

Desirable: - On Specialist Register

Knowledge and Skills

Essential: - Evidence of knowledge and skills equivalent to that expected after 4/5 years anaesthetic junior doctor training; - Good communication skills

Audit

Essential: - Knowledge and commitment to medical audit; - Interest in research

Desirable: - Publications in peer reviewed journals

Experience

Essential: - ST3+ level experience, as required by the Royal College of Anaesthetists; - Experience in Cardiothoracic Anaesthesia

Desirable: - Experience at Middle Grade level; - Experience outside the speciality; - Some teaching experience; - TOE experience

Other
