You will have excellent clinical and communication skills and must hold MRCGP. You will deliver high-quality patient care and undertake duties in line with the agreed practice timetable, including:
Surgery consultations
Telephone consultations and queries
Home visits where required
Checking and signing repeat prescriptions
Managing tasks, paperwork and correspondence in a timely manner
Making professional and autonomous clinical decisions
Assessing patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed problems
Screening for disease risk factors and early signs of illness
Developing care plans in line with practice protocols
Providing counselling, advice and health education
Admitting or discharging patients from your caseload and referring appropriately
Keeping clear, accurate and contemporaneous consultation notes
Collecting and recording data for audit purposes
Compiling and issuing computer-generated acute and repeat prescriptions
Prescribing in line with the practice formulary where clinically appropriate
In general, you will be expected to undertake all duties normally associated with a GP working within primary care.
Barrington Medical Centre is looking for a highly motivated
and dedicated GP to join our friendly multidisciplinary team
under the NHS Additional Roles Reimbursement Scheme. This post is 2 sessions per week for 6 months, subject to ongoing funding.
You will have excellent clinical and communication skills
and must hold MRCGP. The role will include a range of duties in line with the
Agreed practice timetable, including
Surgery consultations
Telephone consultations and queries
Home visits where required
Checking and signing repeat prescriptions
Managing clinical tasks, paperwork and correspondence in a timely way
Making autonomous clinical decisions in relation to
presenting problems
Assessing patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed conditions
Screening for disease risk factors and early signs of illness
Developing care plans in line with practice disease management protocols
Providing counselling, lifestyle advice and health education
Referring patients appropriately to other providers
Admitting or discharging patients from your caseload as appropriate
Keeping clear, accurate and contemporaneous clinical records
Collecting and recording data for personal and practice audits
Compiling and issuing computer-generated acute and repeat prescriptions
Prescribing in accordance with the practice formulary where clinically
appropriate

All new staff complete a practice induction programme. You
will be expected to undertake mandatory training and to keep your skills and

and the needs of the service will be supported where possible.

You will work as part of a multidisciplinary team and are
expected to communicate effectively and professionally with colleagues,
patients and external agencies. Staff are expected to maintain high standards
of professional behaviour and appearance in keeping with their clinical role
and the expectations of the practice. Annual and study leave should be taken in
line with practice policy and with regard to service needs.
Located within the Altrincham Health & Wellbeing Centre, Barrington Medical Centre offers a modern, purpose-built environment with excellent facilities, including allocated underground parking and bright, well-designed clinical rooms. We are a close-knit, supportive and genuinely friendly practice team, caring for a list size of approximately 7,700 patients.
