  • Provide specialist clinical and technical support for advanced critical care technologies.
  • Deliver training and competency assessments for critical care staff on medical devices and clinical equipment.
  • Support the safe introduction, evaluation, and implementation of new technologies and treatment modalities.
  • Assist in the management, troubleshooting, and optimisation of critical care medical equipment.
  • Contribute to service development, quality improvement initiatives, audit, and governance activities.
  • Support STP trainees, junior staff, and multidisciplinary colleagues through teaching, supervision, and mentorship.
  • Work collaboratively with clinicians, nursing staff, allied health professionals, and Clinical Technical Services to ensure safe and effective patient care.

Education/ Qualifications

Essential

  • Educated to HND/Degree or equivalent.

Desirable

  • Registered Clinical Scientist STP qualifications

Experience

Essential

  • Experience within a clinical environment, Preferably a Critical Care Unit
  • Specialist knowledge through postgraduate diploma or specialist equipment training and experience
  • Proven experience in teaching and training

Desirable

  • Proven experience in teaching and training
  • Knowledge of Adult Intensive Care
  • Knowledge of physiological measurement techniques

Skills/Knowledge/ Abilities

Essential

  • Computer literate (word/excel/MS Office)
  • Analysing and diagnosing faults in complex, multi-faceted equipment.
  • Logical approach to problem solving
  • Ability to use own initiative and work unsupervised.
  • Ability to develop and maintain professional relationships
