- Act as an exemplary role model for best clinical practice and Trust values
- Work to an agreed job plan to maximise education delivery to support staff and patient safety/experience.
- Supervise and manage clinical educators to promote effective working across the education team.

- Deliver education programmes at a departmental level level and where required cross divisionally in support of organisational priorities.

Education, Training, Qualifications and Experience
Essential
- Registered Midwife
- UK Health related recognised Degree, relevant to post
- Evidence of ongoing professional development through maintenance of NMC
- Appropriate period of post-registration midwifery experience
- Evidence of specialist knowledge appropriate to the clinical area or practice development and education
- Having or working toward a post-graduate certificate in teaching
- Familiar with and able to effectively use common office software suites (e.g. MS Office)
- Experience of coaching
- Experience designing, delivering and evaluating programmes of education
Desirable: - National publication or presentation of audit, service improvement or research; - Evidence of study at level 7

- Able to document observations, results, decisions and actions etc. accurately, and effectively communicate these to appropriate members of the multi-disciplinary team
- Demonstrates ability to work as part of a team
- Able to communicate effectively with patients/relatives and carers and all members of the multi-disciplinary team
- Has and continues to measurably contribute to the education of learners and non-registered and less experienced staff
- Able to analyse the practice of self and others and generate structured, objective recommendations for improvement
Ledership and Management

- Evidence of excellent communication skills
- Able to prioritise own workload and that of others as appropriate
- Demonstrates ability to maintain and contribute to the development of standards of practice, conduct or decision making in conjunction with team leaders/ward manager/unit co-ordinator
- Acts as a role model and able to lead by example to ensure the Trust's values and behaviours are reinforced throughout their area of practice
- Able to supervise non-registered and registered colleagues to ensure effective care delivery
