Senior Biomedical/Training Lead – Blood Transfusion

The post holder will have managerial responsibility for Biomedical Scientists. They will be accountable to the Chief Biomedical Scientist in Blood Transfusion for the delivery of Training within the department including management of registration portfolios, specialist portfolios and support for higher specialist and Masters. In addition to supporting apprenticeships, work experience, Certificates of Expert Practice and other qualifications.

The post holder will have shared operational management of the department and will assist in managing the routine work and staff rotas for the Blood Transfusion laboratory in conjunction with the other Haematology and Blood Transfusion seniors.

Education and Training

Essential: - MSc in Haematology/Blood Transfusion or equivalent experience; - State registered with the Health & Care Professions Council.; - Evidence of CPD

Desirable: - Fellow of the Institute of Biomedical Science (IBMS)

Knowledge and Skills

Experience

Essential: - Experience in all areas of clinical Blood Transfusion.; - Experience of organising groups of Staff.

Desirable: - Experience of more complicated techniques used in Blood Transfusion.; - Experience in staff appraisal/PDR; - Previous training Lead role
