Salaried Doctor - General Practice

Postholders will be expected to undertake a variety of

duties including including face to face surgery consultations, telephone

consultations and handling queries. We are a SystmOne practice. Home visits

will be needed for our housebound patients. The checking and signing of repeat

prescriptions, reviewing of clinical documentation and dealing with queries

will also be part of the job.

Postholders will be expected to use generic prescribing and

adhere to local and national guidelines. They will need to know how to

effectively manage long term conditions. They are expected to process their

referrals, prescriptions and other associated administrative tasks in a timely

manner.

POST: START October 2026 (flexible for the right candidate)

Reporting to: GP Partners (Dr F

Sadiq, Dr P Prasad, Dr H Carrigan & Dr Tynegate) on clinical matters and

the Practice Manager on administrative issues

Hours of work: Four

(session times to be negotiated) and cover for GP annual leave.

Contract type: Permanent

position with three months probationary period.

Role summary: The post-holder will provide

general medical services managing a caseload and deal with a wide range of

health needs in a primary care setting, ensuring the highest standards of care

for all registered and temporary patients

Location: Hyde

Annual leave: Six weeks annual leave plus public/bank holidays

(pro rata)

Study leave: Up to one week per

annum (pro rota) to support CPD and appraisal

Salary: £10,500 - £11,400 per session dependent

on experience, plus professional medical indemnity costs

Main purpose of the

role: The practice is

the health care needs of patient with undifferentiated and undiagnosed problems

clear and contemporaneous I.T. based consultation notes to agreed standards.

Collecting

data for audit purposes.

Compiling

and issuing computer-generated acute and repeat prescriptions.

Prescribing

in accordance with locally agreed or national guidelines.

In

general the post-holder will be expected to undertake all the normal duties and

responsibilities associated with a GP working within primary care.

safety, CQC.

training, Practice meetings and events organised by the practice or other

agencies, where appropriate.

of Leeds, serving a young and ethnically diverse population of 11,000 patients. Our

multidisciplinary team involves pharmacists physiotherapists, podiatrists, social

prescribers and mental health workers. We are a teaching practice for medical

students. We offer a full LARC service. We are supportive of GPs who wish

to develop specialist skills e.g. minor surgery. We are able to offer supportive induction for newly qualified GPs if necessary.
