SACT Nurse

Deliver safe, evidence-based systemic anti-cancer therapy (SACT) and supportive care.

Provide specialist advice and support to patients and their families from diagnosis through treatment.

Manage a caseload of oncology patients, acting as a key worker throughout their pathway.

Undertake patient assessments, care planning, and evaluation of treatment outcomes.

Work closely with Consultants and the wider multidisciplinary team to ensure seamless patient care.

Demonstrate expertise in venepuncture, cannulation, CVAD management, and chemotherapy administration.

Recognise and manage treatment-related complications, including extravasation, anaphylaxis, and neutropenic sepsis.

Participate in oncology telephone triage services.

Support quality improvement initiatives and promote best practice across Cancer Services.
