  • Deliver resuscitation training (adult, paediatric & newborn) to all grades/disciplines of staff (basic and advanced life support as required), trauma resuscitation and the assessment and care of the critically ill patient.
  • Support monitoring of standards and protocols, including the audit and evaluation of the resuscitation procedure.
  • Support the collection, appraisal and recording of accurate information for the purposes of national and local audits/research related to resuscitation and resuscitation practice.
  • Ensure that resuscitation is underpinned by evidence based practice where applicable and encourages the application of research into daily practice.
  • To attend clinical resuscitation calls whenever possible, to provide team leadership (as necessary), monitor performance, support, advise and to provide debriefing/clinical supervision as needed.
  • Investigate in-patient cardiac arrests as per the resuscitation policy and initiate/ engage with any subsequent actions as a result of the investigation
  • Support the Trust's focus on recognition of the deteriorating patient through education, audit, investigative processes and simulation.
  • In conjunction with Portsmouth Hospitals University Trust Simulation Team and the IOW Trust resuscitation team, develop (and sometimes lead on) a Trust simulation strategy in line with national recommendations.

Skills and Knowledge

Essential

  • Registered Nurse (adult, child or neonatal field), Registered Paramedic, HCPC registration in a role.
  • Recent experience in resuscitation practice
  • Happy to communicate in person, by phone, via teams, e-mail

Qualifications

Essential

  • Teaching/training experience or a demonstrated and enthusiastic interest to engage in teaching/training with clear reasoning as to why this has not yet been achieved.
  • Post registration critical or acute care experience
