To provide an excellent research engagement service by carrying out and leading on a range of communications activities including PPIE in research across Cornwall

To improve and enhance the Trust's internal and external communications in relation to research engagement and PPIE through a range of channels, producing written and video content, whilst engaging with the public

Promoting a positive research image of the Trust to staff, the media and key stakeholders, ensuring messages are communicated in an effective and timely manner.

Qualifications

Essential

  • Relevant degree or professional qualification in communications/public relations/journalism or equivalent experience
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Competent computer skills

Experience

Essential

  • Experience of working in the specialist field of Communications / Public Relations and working with members of the public
  • Experience of engaging the public in events and activities

Desirable

  • Previous NHS experience
  • Experience in designing and producing documents
  • Experience of working on websites/intranet sites
  • Experience of working on PPIE or engagement events

Skills

Essential

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Excellent telephone manner
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Ability to complete tasks, within given timescales
  • Ability to communicate effectively with colleagues of all levels, internal and external, and members of the public
  • Sound working knowledge and understand of social media
  • Good organisational skills to ensure tasks and responsibilities are carried out efficiently, and to agreed deadlines
  • Able to maintain a clear focus under pressure
