The postholder will be responsible and accountable for the assessment, planning, delivery and evaluation of nursing care. Work as a member of the multi-disciplinary team and undertake delegated tasks from the ward sister/charge nurse. The postholder will always work within the NMC's Code of Professional Conduct.
As a registered nurse you will participate as a member of the nursing team to provide a high standard of research based care, support the team of staff working in the area to deliver a quality service which is linked to high standard of patient care and support the Sisters / Charge Nurses and Senior Sister / Charge Nurse in the training and development of junior staff.
- An on-site dedicated and professional non-medical education team to support you as you progress through your nursing career including a continuing professional development lead, responsible for staff development.
- A Band 5 to Band 6 fast-track scheme which gives our Band 5 nurses all the skills and competencies they need to enable them to be ready for Band 6 opportunities that arise, with full training to support this development.

Qualifications/Training
Essential
- Registered Nurse on part 1, part 2 or part 12 of the NMC register
- Commitment to life long learning
- Ability to product updated personal professional portfolio
Desirable: - Evidence of ongoing professional development; - Evidence of Assessing and Mentorship qualification; - Evidence of appropriate Specialist Qualification
Previous Experience
Essential: - Previous experience of working in a ward/department care environment
Desirable: - Currently working in an acute ward environment within the NHS; - Experience of supporting students/clinical support workers within the NHS

- Evidence of good communication skills both written and verbal
