QEHB MSK Radiology Fellow (Sept 2027)

a.Ensures service delivery by the department is within the resources available.

b.Helps manage demand and prioritises on the basis of need imaging services as required.

c.Demonstrates excellence in patient quality care.

d.To cover for radiologists as required during time of leave in order to maintain a good service.

a.The post holder must be willing to join an established collaborative department which involves working closely with relevant clinical specialities to provide a comprehensive and cohesive service.

b.Contribute to the design and implementation of imaging service by applying the latest evidence and delivering reasoned proposals.

c.Have good radiology report writing skills and be able to communicate effectively with clinical colleagues. Develop and maintain effective networks in the region to enable best practice to be identified and implemented by the Trust.

d.The post holder must have well-developed listening and communication skills and be able to deal effectively with a wide range of clinicians, managers and professionals both within and outside the Trust.

a.Be willing to be involved with and implement a comprehensive MSK imaging service including multiple modalities.

b.Support the development of a culture of continuous improvement.

c.Effectively plan, communicate and execute changes ensuring engagement and involvement.

The successful applicant will be expected to join our team of enthusiastic consultants to contribute to the increasing workload of the department which has been driven upwards by a combination of service expansion, cancer pathway driven targets and multidisciplinary meeting attendance. The post holder will be expected to work closely with relevant specialty consultant colleagues in providing specialist musculoskeletal ultrasound services, and reporting of musculoskeletal CT and MRI, both diagnostic and interventional procedures. It is also expected that applicants will participate and contribute to the specialist meetings (Orthopaedics, Rheumatology, Major Trauma, Bone infection, Sports Medicine) and participate in weekly teaching and interesting cases meetings. Participation in research and audit will be encouraged. The applicant will also be encouraged to contribute to the general radiology workload including emergency CT sessions and plain films. There may be an opportunity to participate in the diagnostic SpR on call rota.
