Registered Nurse/ OPD - Pain Clinic

• To provide high quality, effective, individualised care to all patients attending services provided by the pain management clinics
• Assisting in the daily management of the day-case procedure list, working in our purpose built theatre and recovery area.
• Responsible for the efficient and timely running of the clinic by ensuring safety of patients and the maintenance of equipment and clinic supplies.
• Participation in nurse-led Qutenza, clinical audit processes, patient feedback that will support work and relationships within the pain service across the Trust.
• Helping support cross-working within the Directorate

Essential

• Registered nurse / Operating Department Practitioner
• Ability to practice within the scope of the UK Nursing and Midwifery Council/Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)
• Degree

Desirable

• Evidence of educational development within pain management
• Standards for student supervision and assessment SSSA (NMC)
• Relevant experience act as a supervisor mentor or assessor for students or Healthcare support workers.
• Develop own skills and knowledge and contribute to development of others.

Essential

• Evidence of both Postoperative Recovery and Operating Theatre work experience
• Assess the patients' nursing needs, plan, implement and evaluate nursing care to ensure the delivery of effective patient care.
• Ensure the principles set out in the Fundamentals of Care are incorporated into daily practice to ensure a high-quality service for the patients and clients.
• Maintain patients nursing records to ensure information is accurate and up to date
• Participate in service development by contributing to the development of team, through unit/department meetings, audit and research.

Desirable

• Evidence of previous experience in pain management

Essential

• Ability to organise clinic activities and to use initiative when facing challenges
• Ability to solve problems and contribute to new ideas, generating discussion and a positive workplace
• Basic Quality Improvement/audit cycle, data collection knowledge and application
• Able to meet the requirements of the role based on Functional Requirements with reasonable adjustments
