- Experience in a customer care facing environment that you can evidence within your application
- Excellent communication skills and be able to demonstrate an attention to detail
- Our reception area is busy so a can-do attitude along with the ability to prioritise and work under pressure are essential.
- The ability to be flexible and work between 7.30am and 6.30pm over 5 days when covering for colleagues or in times of high demand within the services
- Be reliable, professional and adaptable to excel in an ever-changing environment
- Have a high degree of empathy, diplomacy and integrity and be able to demonstrate sensitivity and an awareness of patients needs
- Due to the NHS commitment to moving to full electronic communications you must have excellent keyboard and computer skills, with a working knowledge of basic MS office programs such as Word / Excel and be comfortable communicating via email
- Experience of using Emis and Docman systems
- Welcome and assist patients at the main reception, directing them appropriately to departments or clinical staff.
- Respond to and support online patient enquiries in a timely and professional manner.
- Manage prescription requests, maintaining accurate alphabetical filing and ensuring pharmacy collection drivers follow practice protocols.
- Accurately record and update patient demographic information on the Bloomfield Medical computer system, including address changes.
- Support the smooth day-to-day running of the service through effective organisation and teamwork.
- Book patient appointments as required, using the practice appointment system.
- Carry out general errand duties as needed.
- Provide assistance and support to patients and visitors within Bloomfield Medical Centre.
- Perform routine clerical and administrative duties, including answering telephone calls, taking messages, filing, photocopying, and responding to general enquiries.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to help manage and de-escalate challenging or potentially aggressive situations.
- Report any incidents or concerns (such as accidents, verbal aggression, or damage to property) to the Practice Manager in line with practice procedures.
- Notify the Team Leader of any sickness or absence in accordance with policy.
- Maintain a clean, tidy, and welcoming waiting room environment.
Bloomfield Medical Centre is a 8 Partner GP Practice Primary Care provider based over two sites in Blackpool,
Bloomfield Medical Centre on Bloomfield Road and Grange Park Health Centre on
Dinmore Avenue. Our services are
diverse, forward-thinking enabling us to deliver care to meet local priorities in
relation to deprivation, chronic disease, improved access, migration from
secondary care and more efficient commissioning.
We provide high quality general medical care
to a registered list of over 17,000 patients over the two sites, through our
dedicated team of clinical, administrative and management professionals
including 8 GP Partners, Salaried doctors, Clinical Pharmacists, Advanced
Clinical Practitioners, Nurse Practitioners, Practice Nurses and Healthcare
Assistants.
