The post holder will be booking appointments and dealing with patient queries therefore excellent communication skills and a confident telephone manner is required.
Proficient IT skills (including experience of Microsoft office) is also required as the post holder will also be undertaking a variety of administrative duties to assist in the smooth day to day running of the practices, including some data inputting.
The ideal candidate will have experience of working in a healthcare setting or a customer service environment but full training can be given to the right candidate.
The post holder will also be expected to work at other Health Board managed GP practices in the west area on an ad hoc basis to meet service needs and to cover staff absences. This will be discussed at interview.

Qualifications
Essential: - A good standard of general education; - NVQ Level 2 in administration or equivalent qualification/experience
Desirable: - ECDL; - Word processing qualification (e.g. RSA 2, or equivalent experience)

- Ability to work as part of an integrated multi-skilled team member without direct supervision
- Flexible approach to the needs of the service including working at other sites when required
Knowledge
Essential: - An understanding of confidentiality involved with post; - Knowledge of a range of administrative processes; - welsh language essential

- Ability to input information onto a computer system with speed and accuracy
- Ability to deal with a number of different tasks simultaneously
- Ability to communicate professionally and effectively with all levels of staff both verbally and in writing

- Experience of using Microsoft office packages
- Experience of working in a busy reception or office environment
