The Reception Team Leader will support the day-to-day running of the practice, with a primary focus on supervising the Care Co-ordination Team across both sites.

Key responsibilities include supervising staff, coordinating rotas and leave, managing sickness reporting, and ensuring appropriate service cover at all times. The post holder will provide first-line support, guidance and problem solving, monitor workloads, and support staff development through regular 1:1s and appraisals with the support of the Practice Manager. Any performance or staffing concerns will be escalated to the Practice Manager.

The role also involves supporting administrative workflows, including medical records, patient recalls, and digital consultations, ensuring processes are completed safely, accurately, and in a timely manner. The post holder will assist with managing the appointment system and resolving operational issues.

Further responsibilities include supporting training, induction, and compliance with mandatory training requirements.

The Reception Team Leader will provide support across wider practice operations, including premises, IT, patient feedback, and communications, ensuring issues are identified and escalated appropriately.

The post holder will work collaboratively with the Practice Manager and wider team to maintain a safe, efficient and patient-focused service.
