The Procurement & Supplies Dept. are looking to appoint a Procurement Managerto join their procurement team based at University Hospitals, Coventry. T...
Duties will primarily involve assisting the Head of Procurement in delivery of the Trust's Procurement Strategy. You will also be required to provide an effective and professional service when delivering procurement projects, achieve cost efficiency benefits to the Trust and demonstrate value for money in all procurement activities whilst maintaining compliance with all statutory legislation, Trust Standing Orders and Standing Financial Instructions.
Responsibilities will also include identifying opportunities for standardisation/rationalisation of product usage across the Trust and evaluating supply chain activities, ensuring the most cost-effective source of supply.

Qualifications
Essential
- Hold or be studying for full CIPS qualifications.
- First level Degree or equivalent experience
Experience
Essential
- In depth specialist knowledge of purchasing gained through experience.
- Experience of working in a public sector procurement environment.
- Experience of line management responsibilities
Desirable
- Experience in the use of electronic tendering systems and other purchasing systems.
Knowledge
Essential
- Professional knowledge of purchasing procedures and skills acquired in a professional environment and via study.
- Understanding of public sector procurement rules and regulations.
Skills
Essential
- Able to work independently when required.
- Able to lead team members.
- Competent to intermediate level at Word, Excel and e-mail
- Demonstrable time management skills
- Excellent customer care skills.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Able to deal with complex facts and situations requiring analytical & problem-solving skills.
- Able to concentrate long periods of time whilst using a PC.skills
- Able to communicate clearly with a range of people including colleagues, Trust staff, suppliers.
- Able to provide direction, influence, persuade and negotiate.
- Able to travel to various UK locations independently for meetings exhibitions etc.
Desirable
- Experience of report writing
- Able to drive.
