We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and self-motivated Production Officer to work with our team in Pharmacy Technical Services.

The successful candidate will work within our overlabelling and repackaging unit and will be required to set up and prepare medicines made within Pharmacy Technical Services. The post holder will be expected to understand and follow standard operating procedures.The role includes undertaking relevant training, both external and internal in aspects of Pharmacy Services and associated technical activities and once trained you will act as a releasing officer under the terms of the MHRA licence.

In addition, the post holder will be required to assist with the operation and maintenance of quality systems ensuring compliance with the terms of the MHRA Manufacturing "Specials" Licence regarding all manufacturing processes.

Essential Qualifications

Essential

  • NVQ3 in Pharmaceutical Sciences or Level 3 Science Manufacturing Technician (SMT) in Pharmaceutical Science or an undergraduate degree in chemistry or biological sciences minimum 2:1 Registered, or eligible to be registered, with the GPhC, Science Council (SMT), Royal Society of Chemistry or Royal Society of Biology
  • Registered, or eligible to be registered, with the GPhC, Science Council (SMT), Royal Society of Chemistry or Royal Society of Biology
  • Commitment and evidence of continuous professional development

Knowledge, Skills, Training and Experience

Essential

  • Extensive recent experience of working in hospital or industry pharmaceutical aseptic services manufacturing units with associated training
  • Computer literate with good general keyboard skills, for using the pharmacy computer systems, including ordering, receiving and stock and rectifying stock discrepancies
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work unsupervised as well as with all colleagues as part of a team
  • Knowledge and understanding of GMP
  • Ability to adhere to standard operating procedures
