Perinatal Community Support Worker

The successful candidates will work as a member of the community perinatal multi-disciplinary team providing a service to birthing people & families experiencing mental health difficulties in pregnancy and up to 1 year postnatal.

You will be a valuable part of the service and support needs for birthing people and their families, working with a supportive team of nurses, doctors, occupational therapists, peer support workers, support workers, nursery nurses, pharmacists and psychologists.

You will receive individual and group clinical supervision, as well as regular safeguarding supervision, line management supervision and personal and professional development through the appraisal process.

This post is not open to trainees therefore the successful candidate must have completed the Level 2 Diploma in Health and Social Care or equivalent, with Literacy and Numeracy Level 2 or equivalent. Completion of the Trust Healthcare Assistant competencies within the first six months is required. Qualifications

Experience

Essential: - Previous experience as a Band 2/3 HCA or equivalent in a care environment.

Desirable: - Previous experience of working with people with mental/social health needs or learning disabilities.

Knowledge and Skills

Desirable: - Competency in venepuncture; - Competency in ECGs
