Undertake essential decorating works and general building maintenance activities at the request of the Estates Building Manager / Senior Estates Building Manager.
Develop and maintain effective working relationships with managers, colleagues, contractors and trust wide service users.
Keep plans, electronic and hard copy records, spread sheet statistical data and ensure such records etc. are correct, updated and revised as necessary. Hold a full UK driving licence.
All vehicles are driven safely and driving licence is maintained.
Required to drive appropriate Trust vehicles for transporting personnel or equipment, 100% of records, both electronically and paper based, are kept up to date.
Assist with, and support the Trusts building managers in project work, new equipment testing and commissioning, specifications, surveys, costing and other similar duties. Undertake inspections for pre-installations and investigate services which may be required for new equipment and carry out minor installation improvement works

Qualifications & Education
Essential
- Attained a recognised advanced craft certified qualification (e.g. city and guilds qualification or NVQ level 3) in Painting and Decorating
- Relevant credited technical qualification
- Be willing and able to participate in an on-going training development programme within NHS maintenance services.
Desirable
- Attained or working towards a technical qualification in a specialist area
- Attained a recognised and certified supervisory/ Leadership/ Management qualification.
Knowledge & Experience
Essential
- Be able to demonstrate competence in the required range of technical aspects applicable to the post.
- Completed a recognised apprenticeship.
- Proven ability to understand and comply with detailed procedures
- Be able to demonstrate continued training across traditional trade groups.
- I.T Skills I.e. understanding use of outlook, Handheld device (PDA).
Desirable
- Previous experience of working in the NHS or large complex building service installations (non-domestic)
