We require an enthusiastic person to provide clinical support to the multi-disciplinary Paediatric Audiology team at Hackney Ark and Royal London Hosp...

To perform behavioural as well as specialist diagnostic audiological procedures, and provide a comprehensive specialist hearing aid service to children, including determiningcare plans for individual patients, and involving carers and families as appropriate.

To support the day-to-day management of the joint Tower Hamlets and City and Hackney Paediatric service.

To participate in areas of clinical audit, research and clinical governance for the Audiology service, which may include designing and completing auditswithin own field, participating in data collection for larger projects, andcontributing to the development of evidence based protocols.

To plan and prioritise elements of own workload, within the framework of service delivery priorities as defined by the Clinical Lead and Head of Service, and supervise the work of other members of the team as appropriate, including junior audiologists, trainees and students.

Qualifications

Essential

  • BSc Audiology OR BTEC qualification in Medical Physics and Physiological Measurement & successfully completed both parts of BAAT I and II (or equivalent)
  • Registered to practice as an Audiologist with the Registration Council for Clinical Physiologists (RCCP)
  • Theoretical and practical knowledge of Paediatric Audiology, and advanced Audiological test techniques An awareness of national Audiology and NHS Developments
  • Evidence of CPD

Desirable

  • MSc in Audiological Science plus CAC/CCC Or Successful completion of the STP in Audiology
  • Eligible/registered as a clinical scientist with HCPC or on the voluntary register with RCCP
  • Advanced courses in Audiology
  • British Sign Language Qualifications
  • Deaf Awareness Qualifications
  • Membership with the BAA and/or BSA
  • Diploma/Post graduate Certificate in Management

Experience

Essential

  • NHS experience within Paediatric Audiology, including behavioural assessment and rehabilitation

Desirable

  • Responsibility for area(s) of speciality within Audiology and/or general administration
  • Demonstrable operational managerial responsibility
  • Demonstrable operational managerial responsibility
  • Working towards post graduate qualifications

Knowledge

Essential

  • Theoretical and practical Knowledge of Paediatric Audiology, and advanced Audiological test techniques
  • Awareness of the safeguarding procedures in place to maintain the wellbeing and protection of vulnerable children
  • Thorough understanding of the concept and practical implications of clinical governance

Desirable

  • An awareness of national Audiology and NHS developments
