Multi-Agency Rapid Response Service Practitioner (Developmental)

We work intensively with young people with acute mental health difficulties who are in crisis to prevent the need for inpatient admission where possible. As part of the Acute Care Pathway we work closely with the Southwest Provider Collaborative, our local CAMHS Inpatient Unit (Sowenna), Community CAMHS and in partnership with our children's Social Care colleagues.

The team offers short term intensive interventions to young people with a significant mental illness or who are emotionally dysregulated and displaying high risk behaviour relating to their mental health. The team also offers home treatment as an alternative to hospital admission - this can involve targeted, short term intervention.

The team currently offer urgent assessments in hospital, or in the community, and short-term intervention. We are proud to now offer intensive support at home, with those the young person care about around them, actively working with our partners to prevent children and young people being admitted into hospital.

The team will operate county wide and will be integrated with CAMHS, the wider child and family health services as well as Cornwall Council's social work service for children and families.
