We are recruiting a Primary Care Based Mental Health Practitioner (MHP) to join our established Lead Mental Health Practitioner working across GP prac...

Expectations of the role

  • Provide assessments, brief interventions and short-term support for people aged 16+
  • Support individuals with presentations including anxiety, depression, trauma-related distress, bipolar disorder, psychosis and other mental health needs
  • Deliver psychoeducation, problem-solving approaches, safety planning and self-management strategies
  • Work collaboratively with GP practice staff and local services to ensure people are directed to the most appropriate support
  • Promote recovery, wellbeing and prevention of deterioration within local communities

About Coastal PCN

Coastal PCN is one of four Primary Care Networks across West Norfolk, working collaboratively to meet the needs of local populations.

Practices include

  • The Burnham Surgery
  • Great Massingham & Docking Surgeries
  • Grimston Medical Centre
  • Heacham Group Practice
  • Wells Health Centre

Qualifications

Essential

  • Registered Mental Health or Learning Disability Nurse, Occupational Therapist or Social Worker with the relevant professional registration.
  • Practice Assessor and Practice Supervisor training (NMC Registrants) or Practice Educator (AHP Social Worker Registrants)
  • Ongoing Professional Development working towards degree level (if professional registration is following a diploma level course)

Experience

Essential

  • Able to demonstrate an appropriate level of knowledge of mental health practice
  • Experience of managing a caseload and the provision of Mental Health Care services to people with mental health care needs.
  • Experience in the delivery of clinical interventions.
  • Experience supervising others/students including preceptorship programme

Desirable

  • Experience in delivering group-based interventions.
