Job summary Church Road Surgery, based in Aston, Birmingham, is looking for a part time medical receptionist. The hours are to be worked over five day...
The main duties are to answer calls, book appointments, prepare prescriptions and input documents.
You will need to be a good communicator, fluent in English, written and spoken, with excellent interpersonal and customer service skills; especially under pressure.
You will have a range of patient facing and administrative tasks, so excellent organisational skills and time management are critical.
Job Purpose
To ensure that the reception area of the Practice runs smoothly,
provides a high level of service to patients, doctors, nurses and other
members of the Practice team
Making appointments and signposting patients
Taking requests for prescriptions
Ambulance transport bookings
Recording home visit requests
Dealing with general enquiries.
Working with the wider NHS teams as needed
Greet and direct patients and visitors
We are a well-established, GP training practice delivering family-centered continuity of care to 5,000 patients.
Our team comprises of GPs, Practice Nurses and HCA and an excellent admin team
We work with Primary Care Additional roles that include a Practice Pharmacist, Care Co-Ordinator, MSK Practitioner, Social Prescriber, Midwife and a Physician Associate
Qualifications
Essential: - Good standard of general education
Desirable: - GCSE Mathematics C or above; - GCSE English C or above; - AMSPAR Receptionist certificate; - NVQII in Customer Care; - CLAIT Qualification
Experience
Essential: - Experience of working with the general public; - Experience of reception work
Desirable: - Experience of working within General Practice; - Knowledge of EMIS
