Medical Laboratory Assistant - Cellular Pathology

The post holder will work as part of the satellite team at Basingstoke & North Hampshire Hospital (Basingstoke ) on a permanent basis, with occasional rotation to Royal Hampshire County Hospital (Winchester), under the supervision of Biomedical Scientists, an MLA Team Leader, and clinical staff.

This role involve performing a range of tasks that contribute to the diagnostic service, including sample handling, preparation and tracking, consultant support during specimen dissection, patient data entry and maintaining equipment.

Training and qualifications

Essential: - Literacy and numeracy to at least GCSE or eqivalent level evidenced

Experience and knowledge

Essential: - Experience of dealing with sensitive information evident

Desirable: - Previous laboratory or NHS experience

Skills and abilities

Essential: - Ability to work both individually or as part of a team; - Ability to follow complex procedures is evidenced

Desirable: - Evidence of strong communication skills
