Maternity Tobacco Dependency Advisor

The post holder will work with the Lead Midwife for Tobacco Dependence and other team members to provide individualised stop smoking support to women and families in a flexible and innovative way. This post will contribute to tackling inequalities in health through promoting and supporting people to stop smoking. It focuses on engaging with people in communities and offering them practical support to change their behaviour to achieve their own choices and goals.

The post holder will play a key role in the collecting, collating and reporting of Smokefree Pregnancy data. The post holder will be required to undertake other duties commensurate with the grade as directed.

Qualifications

Desirable: - Smoking Cessation Advisor intermediate level qualification

Experience

Essential: - Experience providing healthcare advice or promoting healthy lifestyle advice; - Experience providing help, support and/or counselling

Desirable: - Experience of providing smoking cessation support; - Experience of working with pregnant women

Knowledge & Skills

Desirable: - Smoking cessation NCSCT trained; - Experience of using Quit Manager or another database/electronic clinical record system

Other

Essential: - Ability to travel; - Adaptable and flexible
