As a Maintenance Assistant at Barnet Lane Clinic, your role involves creating a well-presented and safe environment for vulnerable individuals. You will ensure the facilities are fit for purpose and conduct regular audits to identify and repair faults, ensuring safety for service users, staff, and visitors. You will undertake maintenance-related tasks, work with contractors for service upkeep, and receive necessary training to start. Join Barnet Lane Clinic in Borehamwood as a Maintenance Assistant where you will be part of creating a well- presented and safe environment for some of the most vulnerable people in society.

As a Maintenance Assistant, you will be responsible for ensuring the services facilities are fit for purpose, gardening and will regularly conduct audits to identify and repair any faults ensuring a safe environment for service users, staff and visitors.

Working alongside an established team, you will turn your hand to all maintenance-related tasks, liaising with contractors to support the upkeep of the service.

You’ll receive all necessary training to get you started and join the dedicated team, where you can make a positive difference and be part of changing lives for the better. This is a full time position of 37.5 hours a week. Monday-Friday 9am-5pm with flexibility to accommodate alternative hours such as 8am-4pm. As a Maintenance Assistant you will have:

  • Assisting with ensuring that the service, buildings, facilities and equipment requirements are maintained and fit for purpose.
  • Utilising good DIY skills to ensure safety of service users is maintained.
  • Assisting in regular checks and maintenance.
  • Assisting in the repair and maintenance of all buildings.
  • Assisting in all decorating.
  • Liaising with a manager reporting all faults and defects.
  • Participating in a 1 week retaining on-call rota for the purposes of emergency maintenance.
  • Coordinating and supporting contractors whilst on site and completing of all paperwork and tool checks.

To be successful in this role, you will:

  • To comply with system and procedures.
  • Have previous experience within a maintenance role.
  • To work effectively as part of a team and independently.
  • Show courtesy and respect to residents at all times to ensure that they enjoy the highest quality of service.
  • Attend and participate in training sessions and staff meetings.

Barnet Lane’s Complex Care and Recovery Service (CCRS) is a highly specialised, bespoke inpatient adult service designed to support individuals whose needs exceed the scope of traditional inpatient service models.

The service specialises in treating patients who have experienced multiple or prolonged admissions, stalled discharge pathways, or who have been unable to progress within conventional care environments.

Essential

  • Compliance with systems and procedures, previous maintenance experience, teamwork and independence, courtesy towards residents, participation in training and meetings.
