- contribute to a range of service development activities, including service evaluation, clinical audit and quality improvement projects to support a business case for funding of the service longer term.
- provide administrative support to the Clinical Psychologist, including assisting with referral triage, gathering relevant clinical information, maintaining patient activity records and supporting the management of the service database.
Working under the supervision of the qualified psychologist, and depending on experience and competencies, there will be opportunities to contribute to the delivery of clinical care of patients, which may take the form of supporting delivery of groups, individual intervention, contributing to staff support and assisting with psychologically informed care across the service.
The Assistant Psychologist will be an integral member of the Macmillan funded Psycho-oncology service at NNUH working along side the wider oncology team of doctors, nurses and allied health professionals to optimise the care and wellbeing of people affected by cancer.

Qualifications
Essential
- Good honours degree in psychology
- Eligibility for graduate membership of BPS
Experience
Essential
- Undergraduate level knowledge of research design and methodology, including complex multivariate data analysis as used by the profession.
Desirable
- Previous experience of working with the client group or in clinical health psychology
Skills
Essential
- Able to communicate effectively (both written and oral) complex, technical and clinically sensitive information to clients, their families carers and a wide range of lay and professional persons within and outside the NHS.
