You will join a
busy and supportive Inventory and Logistics Team responsible for ensuring
essential supplies are delivered safely, efficiently and on time across the
organisation. This is a hands-on leadership role that combines team
supervision, customer service, operational coordination and continuous
improvement within a fast-paced healthcare environment.
We are looking
for an individual with supervisory or team leadership experience, ideally
within logistics, stores, inventory management or a similar operational
environment. You will have strong organisational skills, the ability to
prioritise competing demands and the confidence to make decisions in a busy
service.
The successful
candidate will have excellent communication skills, a flexible approach and the
ability to motivate and support colleagues to achieve high standards of
performance and customer service. Experience of using IT systems and
maintaining accurate records is essential, while experience within the NHS or
healthcare logistics would be advantageous.

Experience
Essential
- Supervisory or Leadership experience.
Desirable
- Experience of working in a stores environment.
- Previous Inventory Management experience.
Knowledge & Skills
Essential
- An understanding of inventory management theory and benefits, stock control procedures, delivery routes, manual handling.
- An understanding of MS Office, particularly Word and Excel.
- An understanding of a largescale public sector Inventory Management IT systems: NHS Supply Chain eDC and other healthcare Inventory Management systems as appropriate.
- An understanding of an Automatic Data Capture (ADC) Unit IT Systems and other handheld stock control systems as appropriate.
- An understanding of purchase order IT systems: Oracle Cloud Finance and Procurement System and other healthcare P2P systems as appropriate.
- Develop an understanding of Standing Orders, Standing Financial Instructions, Purchasing procedures and Public Procurement regulations as they relate to their own work.
- Knowledge of storekeeping principles through appropriate training courses provided by the Skills Development Network.
- Develops an understanding of Health and Safety and COSHH regulations.
- Be able to work unsupervised.
- Be able to motivate and manage a team.
- Good communication skills.
- Good IT skills.
- Ability to think clearly and remain calm under pressure.
Desirable
- A general understanding of Inventory management theory and benefits, stock control procedures, delivery routes, manual handling.
Physical Skills
Essential
- Physically fit, being able to regularly lift and handle loads without mechanical assistance and heavy loads in cages/barrows.

Qualifications
Essential
- Knowledge of storekeeping principles through having completed, NVQ level 3/Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (CIPS)/Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport(CILT) qualification or equivalent level of experience and knowledge.
Desirable
- ECDL or equivalent.
- Hold a full UK driving licence.
