Locum Consultant in Paediatric Anaesthesia

Reporting into the Team Lead, your responsibilities will include:

Provide anaesthetic services to accommodate service expansion, consultant cover and flexibility, and to cover consultants who are on leave.

There may be opportunity for those with appropriate qualifications to take on additional PICU responsibilities.

Person specification Qualifications

Essential: - MBBS or equivalent; - Relevant specialist qualification or equivalent

Knowledge/Previous Experience

Essential: - 12 months advanced Paediatric Anaesthesia training

Desirable: - Training, experience and or interest in Chronic Pain Medicine

Previous Training Management/Audit

Essential: - Basic experience in management eg trainee rotas; - Clear involvement in audit

Desirable: - Preparation of audit; - Understanding of NHS management responsibilities of consultants

Academic Achievements Research/Publications

Essential: - Has interest in research and undertaken clinical projects

Desirable: - Shown evidence of interest in relevant specialist research

Skills

Essential: - Able to communicate well with children, parents and staff; - Ability to work as a team with professional colleagues from medical and other disciplines

Desirable: - Ability to teach
