- To contribute to the overall leadership of the Head and Neck and Sarcoma service and to the delivery of the service.
- To contribute to and support the wider research programme for the in Liverpool.
- To participate in the educational programmes for trainees
In addition to the site specific teams there is a broad range of teams in place to support all CCC patients through their cancer journey including Inpatient and Outpatient Matrons, Specialist Oncology nurses (clinical and research), Specialist Palliative Care Team, Enhanced Supportive Care Team, Social Worker, Cancer Psychology Services, Dieticians, Pharmacists, Cytotoxic Pharmacy, Physiotherapists and Occupational Therapist.
Good communication skills, the ability to work as a team member, and offer a high standard of clinical opinion are essential requirements. Participation in the Trust consultant appraisal system and Royal College of Radiologists CPD programme are expected. Applicants are required to be on the Specialist Register of the GMC before taking up the Consultant appointment or within six months of their CCT on the interview date.

Qualifications
Essential: - GMC Licence to Practice; - FRCR (or equivalent)
Desirable
- Relevant certificate of training in communication
- Higher degree of PhD or MD by postgraduate thesis (or evidence of equivalent research training/experience)
Clinical Experience
Essential
- Experience of specialist training in the management of Head and Neck and Sarcoma malignancies
- Experience of managing patients on clinical trials
- Experience of clinical audit
Desirable: - Post-CCT experience in management Head and Neck and Sarcoma malignancies
Teaching experience
Essential
- Ability to teach all grades of clinical staff, including those in training
- Experience of teaching basic clinical skills to undergraduates
- Experience of supervising medical trainees
Management and Administrative experience
Essential
- Experience and evidence of collaborative work across clinical network groups and in multi-disciplinary teams
- Development of clinical pathways
- Experience and evidence of service improvement
- Insight into managing and leading clinical teams
Desirable: - Evidence of research activity and publications
