Infant feeding Midwife

As an Infant Feeding Midwife, you will work as part of the Infant Feeding Team to provide specialist infant feeding support to women, babies and families across maternity, neonatal and community services. Working collaboratively with the Infant Feeding Team and under the direction of the Infant Feeding Lead Midwife, you will support the delivery of evidence-based infant feeding care, helping families to achieve their individual feeding goals and promoting positive health outcomes.

You will contribute to the provision of specialist breastfeeding and infant feeding support through clinics, ward-based education and one-to-one consultations, supporting families with a range of feeding challenges. Working closely with multidisciplinary colleagues to ensure consistent, high-quality care and support the implementation and maintenance of UNICEF Baby Friendly Initiative standards across the Trust. The role includes contributing to staff education, audit, quality improvement activities and the development of infant feeding resources and services. Through effective teamwork, advocacy and clinical expertise, you will help ensure that women, babies and families receive compassionate, family-centred infant feeding support throughout their care journey.

Targeted support and service need will require some flexibility - the post holder may need to work alongside colleagues, cross site working may be required. You may need to participate in clinical activity as required.
