Under supervision and according to Standard Operative Procedures perform an extended range of technical support duties within the laboratory, rotating through all sections of Blood Sciences, predominantly supporting Biomedical Scientist staff within the team to facilitate optimal patient care.
Successful candidates will be expected to provide support to BMS staff by operating and maintaining analysers, perform some manual tests and providing support on benches.
The successful candidate will be expected to fully participate in the 24/7 shift rota.

Qualifications/Training
Essential
- Aptitude for learning from "on the job" training
- Vocational Level 2 Qualification e.g. BTEC (or equivalent or higher) in an appropriate subject
- Basic numeracy and literacy qualifications (GCSE or equivalent)
Experience
Essential: - oExperience of working in a customer facing environment oPrevious pathology laboratory experience
Desirable: - oNHS experience
Knowledge
Desirable: - oKnowledge of NHS systems
Skills & Abilities
Essential: - oPatient focused oBasic IT skills oAbility work cooperatively within a team oGood communication and interpersonal skills
