As a Finance Officer, you will support senior finance colleagues in delivering a comprehensive financial management service to a range of stakeholders across the organisation. Your role will include:

  • Producing accurate and timely financial information, reports and working papers.
  • Supporting budget monitoring, financial reconciliations and month-end processes.
  • Investigating and resolving financial queries, discrepancies and variances.
  • Maintaining financial systems, databases and spreadsheets to ensure robust financial control.
  • Liaising with internal and external stakeholders, auditors and NHS partners.
  • Assisting with statutory and management reporting requirements.Supporting financial governance, compliance and continuousimprovement initiatives.
  • Supervising and supporting junior team members where required.

  • Support the effective delivery of services to stakeholders, as defined by agreed service specifications.
  • Ensure all financial information provided is timely, accurate and relevant, and is produced in accordance with the relevant reporting timetable.
  • Complete all statutory, internal and external reporting for all areas of responsibility, including preparation of relevant working papers.
  • Contact internal and external stakeholders to resolve queries.
  • Manage the reconciliation of financial information, taking action where necessary to support in resolving any reconciling items.
  • Provide leadership to junior colleagues within their designated team.

Our Integrated Care Board (ICB) is the largest in the country.

The ICB is responsible for ensuring that high quality and safe health services are accessible to all of our communities. It has a wide range of functions, including; promoting integration of health and care services, improving peoples health and well-being, reducing health inequalities.

With a £6.6 billion budget and a workforce of 170,000 people across the North East and North Cumbria. As well as strategic functions, ICB staff also work at place level with local health and wellbeing boards in each of our 14 local authority areas. These teams also work alongside our 67 primary care networks which are groups of local GP practices, social care teams and other community- based area providers.

The ICB works with our Provider Collaborative too, this includes the 11 NHS Foundation Trusts in the region, to deliver our shared priorities.

Qualifications

Essential

  • AAT level 3 / NVQ level 4 / Part Qualified Accountant or equivalent.

Desirable

  • Minimum 5 GCSE's Grade A-C or 5 to 9 including Maths and English or equivalent.

Experience

Essential

  • Experience of working autonomously with confidential and sensitive information.

Desirable

  • Experience of staff management.
  • Experience of large integrated financial systems and dealing with large volumes of data in analysis.
