Duty & Assessment Social Worker Location: Lancaster Central Library / White Cross, Lancaster (Lancashire) Department: FDAA MASH D&A (Fylde & Bay Area) Pay Rate: £39.00 per hour Interviews: As soon as possible (ASAP) About the Role An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Children's Social Worker to join the Front Door & Assessment / Duty & Assessment (FDAA MASH D&A) team covering the Fylde & Bay Area (Lancaster). In this fast-paced statutory post, you will deliver robust, child-centred interventions-building trusting relationships with families using a trauma-informed, strength-based approach to assess needs and manage safeguarding risks effectively. Key Responsibilities

Assessments & Home Visits: Complete timely, structured, and highly analytical assessments while carrying out purposeful home visits and keeping children and families informed at every stage.

Risk Management & Safeguarding: Identify, analyse, and respond swiftly to safeguarding concerns, actively contributing to strategy discussions and Child Protection processes.

Relational Practice: Build trusting, effective relationships with children and families using trauma-informed, child-centred, and strength-based methodologies.

Multi-Agency Collaboration: Work closely alongside partner agencies to ensure coordinated care planning and transparent, effective information-sharing.

Case Recording & Compliance: Maintain accurate, timely, and high-quality case records, ensuring all documentation meets statutory standards and local timescales.

Team & Development Culture: Engage in regular reflective supervision, commit to continuous learning, and foster a supportive, collaborative, and reflective team environment.

Essential Candidate Criteria To be considered for this role, applicants must meet the following strict eligibility requirements:

Experience: Minimum of 3 years' post-qualifying experience in a permanent post within a Local Authority statutory setting.

Employment History: Must not have held a permanent or fixed-term contract with Lancashire County Council within the last 12 weeks.

Registration: Active registration with Social Work England (SWE).
