Divisional Finance Manager – Planning & Reporting

Lead the development and delivery of the Trust's annual financial plan, coordinating the planning process across the organisation and ensuring the timely completion of all NHS England planning submissions.

Own and drive the Trust's financial forecasting process, providing robust analysis, insight, and scenario modelling to support strategic decision-making and financial sustainability.

Lead the production and submission of monthly external financial returns, ensuring compliance with NHS England requirements, national guidance, and reporting deadlines.

Produce high-quality financial and management reports for operational managers, senior finance leaders, the Director of Finance, and Chief Finance Officer, translating complex financial information into clear, actionable insights.

Lead the annual budget-setting process across the Trust, working collaboratively with budget holders and senior stakeholders to align financial plans with organisational priorities and objectives.

Provide expert financial advice, challenge, and support to operational and clinical leaders, enabling informed decision-making and strengthening financial accountability across services.

You would be joining a vibrant and enthusiastic Financial Planning & Analysis team at a challenging and interesting time with financial recoveryand sustainability as a priority. Alongside the wider Finance department our teams are based at the Basingstoke site but currently benefit fromhybrid working arrangements and are expected at times to travel to one of our other two sites.

Training and Qualifications

Essential: - Full member of CCAB body; - Minimum of 2 years post CCAB qualification experience

Desirable: - Graduate; - 3 to 5 years post CCAB qualification experience

Experience & Knowledge

Essential: - Experience leading the development of plans and forecasts; - Experience delivering process improvements and change activities.

Desirable: - Public Sector experience; - Experience of scenario modelling and sensitivity analysis.

Skills and Ability

Essential: - Manipulation of complex information using a range of skills and techniques; - Ability to work with Senior Members of the Trust and other organisations
